Sunflower hill

Sunflower hillA nice hill with nanohana in spring and sunflower in summer. Sunflower farming began in 1987. Since then, it becomes a famous sunflower matsuri with many visitors. There are 420000 sunflowers in an area over 6 hectares, the second largest sunflower farm in Japan (the largest sunflower farm is in Hokuryumachi visit and taste the products made by sunflower seeds (cake, noodle, etc.).

Tadeyama Park is the former the castle of Shibuya Sagaminokami the feudal lord of Osaki family. In spring, there are over 900 trees of sakura, one of the best and famous sites in North Miyagi. Narusegawa is flowing inside the park. In the West, you can see the Ou mountains, and in the North you can see the huge farming area of Osaki.

Sanbongi Sanbongi Brown Coal Memerial Hall

Sanbongi brown coal is known for its high grade coal. The hall shows the mine shaft during a busy day in the past, and the process from production to consumption. In the middle of the hall, there is a 10t brown coal measured 1.8m x 1.9m x 2.0m, the biggest sample in Japan. It is from the magic of nature.

Sanbongi Yamanami Roadside Station

The roadside station has a local product showroom, market, restaurant, free refreshment corner and toilet. It is aimed as an antenna shop to promote Osaki during Nanohana matsuri and Sunflower matsuri.
