Kagobo Natural Park “Shikisaikan”

It is the place for exchange of people, who come to Kagobo Hill for its beautiful sceneries in four seasons. Inside the “shikisaikan,” there is a restaurant with a panorama view and delicious local menu made in Tajiri. It has also open bath, Japanese room, refreshment rooms, etc. From observation tower, you can see the great view of the golf course as well as the Osaki plain. The reception of golf course is in the club house.

Kagobo Natural Park “Kagobo Park Golf Course”

The golf park is originally from Makubetsucho of Hokkaido, where the sport is to use a special golf shaft to strike a plastic ball into a cup. The basic rule is the same as golf, but the characteristic of the park golf is that it only uses one shaft. So, it is easier and enjoyable for children and senior players to play in the natural course. The park golf course on the south slope of Kagobo hill is the largest site in the prefecture. It is also a popular course in Japan. Please come and try 54 holes (9 holes x 6 courses) in 3 hours!

Kabukurinuma

Located at the north of Tajiri, Kabukurinuma is wide wetland with more than 100ha. The low wetland, surrounded by the natural barrier of Kitakamigawa and mountains, is a valuable natural environment remained in Japan. Up to now, it is identified that there are 219 kinds of fishes, 32 kinds of birds, 10 kinds of shells and 5 kinds of endangered plants. Especially, there are many swan and geese visiting the wetland in winter cancers. It is known as the heaven for wild birds. In 1997, 50ha of nearby Shiradori area was transformed into wetland and hence more space is available for wild animals.
Ecotourism: Since 2004, the former Tajiri town was selected as one of 13 areas in the “national park ecotourism promotion model project” by The Environmental Ministry. Ecotourism is defined as the experience to appreciate the beauty of nature, to learn the local society, culture and environment with local people, and to have a deeper understanding about natural environment. The word is from “Eco” (of ecology) and “Tourism.”
To bird watchers:
- During bird watching, do not disturb the birds. Move slowly and talk quietly. Please pay attention to the use of car light and camera flash. Do not go beyond the riverbank.
- Feed wild birds will disturb the balance of ecosystem, and deteriorate the quality of water. Please do not feed birds. In addition, please do not leave any garbage.
- There is no telephone or toilet inside the bird-watching facility.
- Please do not disturb the life of inhabitant and agricultural works.
Hotel in Park “Roman Hall”

The hotel can be reached from JR Tajiri station by car in 5 minutes. It is a wooden building in a farm sport park over 18.5 hectares. It is available for school event, children event, training, activities of citizen hall, family trip, etc. The capacity of hotel is 48 persons, and the price for one person is about 3000 yen. It is equipped with long tables, Japanese room with Karaoke, canteen, bathroom and free rent-a-bicycles.

Kagobo Hot Spring “Sakura no Yu”

“Kagobo Hot Spring “Sakura no Yu” opened in April 2005. It is located next to the Hotel in Park “Roman Hall” inside the farm sport park. The Japanese-style image is designed to give a soft and relax atmospheres, with special design such as octagon roof in restaurant, refreshment room (Japanese room included). There are six different kinds of baths, and the hot spring is good for skin beauty, nerve pain, muscle pain, cut and burns. The big and open men and women baths use spring source only. With three levels in depth, you can enjoy the open hot spring in the way you want. In additions, you can spend long hours in the facility to enjoy sauna, massage, after-bath meal and to relax.
